This is a six-month course designed for the professional development of up-and-coming leaders through a variety of activities such as shadowing nursing directors and attending conferences and meetings.
We are home to the largest Graduate Nurse Residency program in the state, which is also one of the largest in the nation. Twice a year, newly graduated nurses can apply to the program for a spot in Maternal-Child, Medical-Surgical or Telemetry.
Mission-
Develop and engage new nurses to provide quality care to our community while sustaining a positive and healthy work/life balance.
Renown’s Nurse Residency program is a series of classes designed to support the new graduate nurse transitioning into practice over the first year. The structured curriculum focuses on the professional development of the new RN, enhancing skills in decision making, leadership, communication, and interprofessional collaboration, while developing a deeper understanding of healthcare today. Combining peer support in the Nurse Residency Program with Renown’s Mentorship Program assists the new RN to navigate the stress and challenges during this year.
Current Nurse Residents comments include:
“This program is nice as a forum to learn and ask questions”
“I love that there are helpful topics each month”
“This has been very helpful and informative”
“Really good interactions and feedback; having a lot of relatability from other new grads and hearing their ideas on how they manage stress.”
“I think this is an awesome class for new RN’s!”
Our PACE program is available to eligible registered nurses in acute and transitional care positions and pays a bonus to nurses who expand and enhance their clinical skills through higher education, national certifications, committee participation, mentoring, teaching, and more.
