Position Purpose:

Under the direction of Food and Nutrition Services Leadership, the Dietary Aide performs a variety of patient food services, dining room services, and dish room duties as well as other related tasks.

This position does not provide direct patient care.

Nature and Scope:

The Dietary Aide prepares food items and assembles prepared foods for patient trays, delivers trays to dining room or patients units, works in the dish room and in pot and pan washing area as needed and serves foods in the cafeteria (as applicable). The Dietary Aide is expected to adhere to the facility and departmental policies and procedures and to follow proper sanitation, safety and infection control policies.

6. Basic Nutrition Knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements – Required and/or Preferred

Education:

Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.

Experience:

Experience in healthcare dietary department preferred.

Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
