Under the general direction of area IT Leadership, this position provides the design, configuration, installation, maintenance, backup, and support for enterprise application and database servers, primarily on the Windows-Intel platform.
Nature and Scope:
This position is responsible for a complex Healthcare System client/server environment that changes rapidly to meet the changing requirements of a growing enterprise network of applications. This position is challenged with providing a reliable, flexible, and cost effective system environment. The systems administrator performs requirement’s gathering to understand the needs of each request to accurately assess the hardware configuration needed and to provide estimated costs for an adequate system. System Administrator will order, install the hardware, install the operating system and application as requested for any application requiring, primarily Windows-Intel based, enterprise servers. Once installed, this position performs monitoring, patching, upgrades, and management of server resources to ensure proper operation, as well as backup of data files to ensure continuity of services.

Minimum Qualifications: Requirements – Required and/or Preferred
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Requires Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in Computer Science. Requires knowledge of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and database development. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Requires at least five years experience working in client/server computing environment and minimum of three years experience working with Wintel-based servers and server management. Requires two years experience as a Systems Administrator 1. Background in healthcare environment is preferred.
MCSE, MCSA, MCDBA preferred.
