This position requires excellent communication skills, data analytics skills, facilitation skills, emotional intelligence, and problem solving in order to implement solutions to complex problems across multiple disciplines and divisions. Critical thinking, the application of lean principles, and ingenuity are required for successful outcomes, as well as the ability to respect and empower all levels of leaders and staff in the organization.
Works cooperatively with senior administrative and clinical leadership to (a) facilitate the deployment of strategic initiatives among all levels of leadership and staff through optimizing the daily management system (DMS) program (b) identify improvement opportunities in complex, multi-system environments using analytical and process improvement tools as well as industry standards and best practices, (c) with operational leadership, establish expectations and measures of success for improvement initiatives, (d) determine resources (financial, staffing, data, etc.) needed to accomplish goals, and (e) facilitate, measure, and monitor the implementation of complex improvement efforts
With administrative and clinical leadership collaboration, demonstrates strong leadership capabilities through guiding and coordinating improvement efforts and strategy deployment from inception to completion, including maintaining a patient/customer-centered approach and empowering the people who do the work
Formally and informally provides PI and performance excellence program consulting and coaching to leaders and staff
Works with others to demonstrate and communicate success, progress and organizational learning
Serves as a technical and educational resource to the organization through facilitating and teaching classes; incumbent may also be asked to present, educate, and facilitate as needed to small and large audiences both internal and external
Must exhibit not only the values of Renown Health, but also basic Lean principles including continuous improvement, respect for people, scientific thinking, seeking perfection, and leading with humility
May be asked to maintain a calendar and schedule of the strategic and improvement activities occurring across the organization
Ensures alignment/collaboration among all supportive roles when conducting PI, DMS, and strategy deployment in operations (supportive roles include: Enterprise Project Management Office, Organizational Development, Service Excellence, Quality, Enterprise Data Analytics, etc.)
Challenges for this position are to exhibit excellent organization, time management, analytical, and mentoring skills to lead and monitor a breadth of improvement and strategic activities. This position will work with physicians, staff, leaders, SMEs, and data analysts to achieve world class performance in all areas of focus. The incumbent is challenged to creatively help others think scientifically, to meet constant deadlines, to expertly guide complex efforts in pursuit of achieving strategic goals, and to ensure standards established by Performance Excellence are maintained. Incumbent must be self-motivated, independent, and adaptable in order to provide value in an ever-changing, complex environment.
