Creates the strategic direction for Patient Access across all of Renown Healths sites of services, with special attention paid to improving the patient experience and market research of competitive industry practices.
Partakes in annual goal-setting processes that cascade from Revenue Cycle goals, as well as Renown Healths mission and strategic vision.
Translates annual goals and/or identified process inefficiencies into specific initiatives and projects for area leaders to manage and fulfill.
Sets standards and evaluates the performance of Patient Access operations across all entities to make sure that quality and productivity expectations are being met.
Develops and carries out disciplinary procedures and performance improvement plans as needed.
Handles the fiscal management of all Patient Access operations across Renown Health, including the creation of annual operating budgets per facility and/or department and monitoring of expenditures.
Conducts cost-benefit analysis for technology, software, and systems.
Analyzes and suggests decisions for staffing levels and structures.
Strengthens recruitment, hiring, and retention practices; and mentors individuals filling or expected to fill patient access leadership roles.
Manages relationships with vendors that provide services to support the Patient Access department.
Cultivates relationships within the health system, and the community, to gain support and participation in revenue cycle initiatives.
Regularly meets with other revenue cycle areas to learn of denial and other performance trends impacted by Patient Access operations.
Stays apprised of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as rules set forth by contracted payers, that may impact Patient Access, and establishes effective channels of communication to ensure staff are aware of pertinent industry updates.
Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
