This position will:
Partner with the Sales Department to develop and manage business information relating to brokers, groups, provider networks and competing insurance carriers. This information will be used to analyze small and large group blocks of business and strategic pricing.
Follow the Underwriting Guidelines established for consistent treatment in the quoting process and suggests modifications when issues are identified.
Leverage strong analytical and math skills to use a proprietary underwriting tool permitted by an independent Actuarial Firm to provide Sales with timely & accurate alternative plan quotes that will be used to our advantage over our competition. Requires training and knowledge of Underwriting concepts.
Provide first pass quotes to Sales team by inputting data into the underwriting model for large and small group renewals and new business quotes and analyzing the data elements to identify possible improvements to the individual quote.
Work with sales and marketing teams to identify process and communication improvements through the eQuote IT system.
Ensures compliance with Nevada State Statutes and the Affordable Care Act in quote development.
Work with team members to ensure that all new business and renewal paperwork is complete and sent out on time according to Nevada State Statutes including rate submissions and supporting documentation.
Set-up claims data reports to support management decision making needs.
Produce reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis of sold and proposed groups which are used to track measures of success in both the Underwriting and Sales Departments.
Analyze and report rates, loss ratios, experience risk and utilization of groups to Underwriting and Finance Leadership.
Other duties as assigned by the Underwriting and/or Financial Department Leader to support effective team work and accommodate the well-being of the customer, department and company.
