This position is responsible for being a point of contact for new desktop hardware and software acquisition inquiries;
Creates requisitions for IT items being purchased with operating funds for all departments and creates capital equipment requests for IT;
Provides IT Managers and Purchasing assistance with contract renewals;
Ensures software purchases are completed and licenses are maintained;
Optimizes cost savings for new purchases and maintenance renewals;
Processes invoices to ensure they are paid in a timely manner through Accounts Payable.
Receives IT hardware and software against purchase order, affixes an asset tag on IT hardware;
Enters IT asset (hardware/software) information into asset management system for accurate tracking and assignment of assets;
Responsible for updating the IT asset database and tracking and maintaining accurate inventory records;
Initiates RMAs with the appropriate vendors and ensures the RMAs are processed correctly for full refunds or asset replacements;
Ensures that service tickets are updated and appropriately assigned to the IT Desktop Support technician for pickup and deployment;
Completes internal audits of software and hardware records to ensure accuracy and licensing compliance;
Works with desktop engineers and hardware vendors to create hardware life cycle roadmap for IT equipment;
Able to prepare and analyze financial reports, utilizing asset records and vendor-provided reports to include calculations of cost;
Complies and enforces any Information Protection and IT Asset Management policies as appropriate;
Manages IT hardware for Legal holds and key custodians per policy.
Follows Renown’s policies and procedures for retiring IT capital assets;
Coordinates the proper disposal of all IT assets with authorized IT Asset Disposal Company;
Updates asset database to reflect retirement of items being decommissioned, removes hard drive/media from all IT hardware (computers, servers, printers, etc.) and appropriately destroys items based on ITAM and healthcare requirements.
