Position Purpose Under the direction of the department leadership, this employee will sit with patients on Suicide/Behavioral watch to prevent harm to themselves or others.
Nature and Scope This position is responsible to conduct a watch in a patient
s room to prevent harm to the patient or others.
The incumbent will be required to assist nursing staff in a timely and consistent manner.
The incumbent must possess ability to communicate with patients and families in a caring and professional manner.
The incumbent must possess a polite, positive attitude while dealing with customers of all ages, social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
Incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work with Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patient
s needs specific to the population being served, and meets standards of quality as measured by the Department age specific competency standard.
The incumbent must be able to function interdependently in a high-intensity atmosphere and make appropriate decisions relative to personal and patient safety.
The incumbent must demonstrate the desire to promote a healing and caring environment.

Minimum Qualifications Requirements – Required and/or Preferred Name Description Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.
Experience: Patient/healthcare related experience preferred. License(s): None. Certification(s): Patient Safety Assistant Mobility Course within 90 days of hire. Computer / Typing: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days,
the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
