Renown Marketing and Communications Honored During Regional Silver Spike Awards

The Marketing and Communications team at Renown Health was honored this year with several regional awards for its work to promote the Healthy Nevada Project, as well as Nurses Week and all of Renown’s services as part of Best Medicine Wednesdays.

Overall, the Renown team won five awards as part of the 2017 Silver Spike Awards from the Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). In addition, Jena Valenzuela, Communications Coordinator, was honored as Outstanding New Practitioner.

The Marketing and Communications team earned the following awards for their hard work to promote Renown:

  • A Bronze Spike for Programs: Overall Campaign for the Healthy Nevada Project, an award shared with the Desert Research Institute (DRI)
  • A Bronze Spike for Strategies and Tactics: Media Relations – Earned: Online, Print or Expert Positioning for the Healthy Nevada Project
  • An Award of Excellence for Programs: Community Relations for the Healthy Nevada Project (shared with DRI)
  • A Bronze Spike for Strategies and Tactics: Media Relations – Paid: Online, Print, Digital and Other for BestMedicine Wednesday News Segments
  • An Award of Excellence for Programs: Internal Communications for promoting Nurses Week

In addition, two Renown employees were named again to the PRSA board: Stacey Sunday, Public Relations Business Partner, is the Vice President of Publicity, while Jena Valenzuela is the Vice President of Member Relations.
