In July, Renown Health welcomed 100 RNs, including 65 new grads. The remaining nurses joined from apprentice nurse positions.
Read below to get to know some of our new RNs – why they chose nursing, their hobbies and more.
Michelle Michelle worked at Renown as a CNA and decided she wanted to return as a RN because she loves the people. She was inspired to study nursing because of her experience after giving birth to her children. When she’s not working, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, archery and camping.
Stephanie says she “loves opportunities provided by Renown for new nurses. The additional education provided by each department coupled with the variety of specialties make Renown the best place for any new grad to land.” When we asked her why she chose nursing, she said that caring for others is something that she has always enjoyed. As a nurse, she has the opportunity to really make a difference in people’s lives. When she’s not at work, Stephanie enjoys hiking, camping, swimming, sledding… pretty much anything outdoors. And Christmas. She says that is an entire hobby in itself!
When we asked her why she chose nursing, she said, “I chose nursing because I want to make a difference in people’s lives. Nursing isn’t just a job, it’s a lifestyle. I realized that not only am I making a difference in someone’s life, they are making a difference in mine.” When Andrea is not at work, she enjoys spending time reading, attending yoga and going to the shooting range.
